Dealing with a real estate
agent
In the process of buying a home, you are likely to deal with several
different real estate agents. Anyone who is in the business of
selling, leasing or buying real estate must hold a land agents
registration or be employed by a registered land agent as a sales
representative. Only deal with a registered land agent or sales
representative.
During the buying process you can generally expect an agent to:
-
Take your details and advise you about
relevant properties for sale
-
Answer any questions about listed properties
-
Arrange inspections
-
Provide a copy of a form 1
-
Communicate your offers to the seller and
organise for the signing of the contact
Remember that an agent is usually hired by the vendor and therefore
will be working for the vendor.
